Sustainability
Forests, fields, factories, communities. The supply chains we own determine the trading house we can build. Sustainability is not our marketing — it is our underwriting model.
Our Commitments
Each commitment below is measurable, time-bound, and tied to a specific operational decision inside our manufacturing arm or trade desk. We will report progress annually beginning 2027.
Our Jhanjharpur mill is transitioning to a 19 kW hybrid solar-and-diesel power backbone. Target: 60% of mill electricity drawn from solar by end of 2026.
Bamboo is the fastest-renewing fibre source available to us. We are commercialising bamboo-grade tissue lines for buyers who specify alternative-fibre product.
Where a buyer's specification permits, we lead with recycled furnish. Virgin-fibre grades are produced only where end-use specification requires them.
Our manufacturing arm employs locally in one of India's most under-served industrial belts. We pursue PMEGP, BIADA, ZED, CLCSS, and Startup Bihar instruments to scale this employment footprint.
Our Approach
A trading house writes the cheques that move tonnes of fibre across the planet every year. The decisions inside those cheques — which forest, which mill, which freight lane, which packaging — are the real instruments of sustainability. Brochure copy is not.
We approach sustainability the way we approach every other dimension of our business: as an ownership question. We do not ask whether our supplier is sustainable. We ask whether we are, because we control the manufacturing.
That control gives us short feedback loops. When a buyer wants FSC-grade chain-of-custody, we can configure the mill to deliver it. When a buyer wants recycled-content certification, we can specify the furnish at the pulper. When a buyer wants documentary evidence, we can pull it from the same Odoo backbone that runs our QA.
Certifications
The following certifications, declarations, and chain-of-custody documents are available with our shipments — subject to product specification, destination market, and order volume. We work with licensed third-party labs and certification bodies for issuance.
Quality management system certification — in process for the Grambask manufacturing arm.
Forest Stewardship Council chain-of-custody available on virgin-fibre product where buyer specifies.
Chamber-of-Commerce-authenticated origin certificate issued with every export consignment.
Phytosanitary certificate issued for plant-fibre product to destinations that require it.
Independent lab-issued specification test report (GSM, brightness, tensile, absorbency) per consignment on request.
Available on relevant product categories for destination markets that require dietary-compliance certification.
In closing
We are building a house that earns the right to outlast its founders. That requires running the supply chain as if our grandchildren will inherit the consequences. Because they will.
